A limited series exploring how technology is eating food across Africa. Food is an absolute necessity, but delivery is not. In theory, this means we can use food delivery as a thinking tool to understand how people adopt technology in frontier markets.

I’m Osarumen. My superpower is asking good questions. I’ve spent the past nine years working on and studying the adoption of technology in emerging markets—as a reporter, investor, and most recently, at Meta, enabling social selling for WhatsApp and Instagram merchants. The Subtext is how I share what I’ve learned so far.
